Our Late Thirties

“You remember that summer we thought the government was finally gonna kill us? When I was drinking and you were using? When we finished that bottle and that sixer and I told you that sometimes, I could see the future?”

“Not really? Which summer was that?”

“The one after the one where you stopped talking to me.”

“Right. When I cut my hand on that bottle after that party trying to clean up while I was fucked up.”

“Yeah! You were wearing a bandage and bleeding through it at the bar.”

“Remember that guy who started confessing to using Opiates at the bar? The bald guy with the sob story and the creatine muscles?”

“God Girl YES! And he was just blaming his ex wife for his addictions! Anyway, this is the future that I saw.”

“Huh.”

“I’m out of smokes, you got any?”

“Yeah.”
